Nomodic Logo/Brand
After developing Nomodic’s first logo as a freelancer in 2013, in 2017 I connected with Calgary-based Forward Level Marketing to help revamp our brand and reflect the evolution of our growth and focus. This new logo, developed in collaboration with the agency’s Creative Lead, was followed by a full Brand Messaging Platform, which outlined the company’s purpose, core values, and brand persona. The new brand formed the base of Nomodic’s visuals and messaging for years to come.
Ultimate Fence Brackets Logo/Identity Design
Calgary-based Ultimate Fence Brackets (UFB) lives up to its name as the ‘ultimate’ way to improve the structural integrity and lifespan of fences. Colourshape designed the logo, business cards, stickers, and rack cards while providing full print management, with additional services including setup of a Facebook page.
Federation of Calgary Communities Logo/Identity
Supporting over 150 community organizations and over 20,000 volunteers strong, the Federation of Calgary Communities needed a new brand identity that was friendly, modern, and fresh. The new logo has been used throughout the organization, from newsletters to banners to special “planning cue cards”.
Edmonton Motors Logo/Identity Design
One of Canada’s oldest and most established car dealerships, Edmonton Motors needed to refresh and modernize their logo to echo the company’s experience, trustworthiness, and diverse product range. The new logo was used on a variety of mediums including license plates, vehicle decals, and signage.
People For Progress Logo/Identity Design
People for Progress is a Calgary-based non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young individuals in developing countries through education and partnership. They approached me with a request to update their logo and visual identity to visually reinforce their mission and goals. The new logo is displayed throughout their collateral and is even painted on a wall in Kenya.
Nomodic Proposals and Marketing Collateral
From 2014 to 2023 I spearheaded the design and creative direction of Nomodic's proposals and RFP responses, helping to secure projects across North America. Navigating Nomodic's diverse marketing needs, I also led the design and content creation for a range of marketing collateral, from concise one-pagers to comprehensive corporate overviews. Each piece played a role in enhancing brand perception and audience understanding.
Nomodic Presentations
During my tenure as Director, Brand & Marketing at Nomodic from 2014 to 2023, I led the design of various presentations that were used for several diverse applications, from client meetings to conferences and webinars. My involvement aimed at enhancing our visual representation and fostering positive engagement, and our presentations played a part in the acquisition of several clients and projects across North America.
Nomodic Brand Identity Guidelines
Following a company rebrand in 2018, I created this comprehensive brand identity guide for Nomodic. It served as a valuable tool for employees and vendors, ensuring consistent representation of the Nomodic brand across all visual communication materials.
Nomodic Website
Armed with a new logo and a Brand Messaging Platform, in 2019 I collaborated with Forward Level Marketing to develop and launch a refreshed website for Nomodic. The site contained several innovative features including a social feed that updated in real time and dedicated project spotlights that outlined the scope, challenges, and solutions for Nomodic’s most prominent projects. Once launched I led the internal maintenance and updating of the website through Wordpress, ensuring a steady stream of new content.
Nomodic Affordable & Indigenous Campaigns
In 2022, with Canada facing an unprecedented need for affordable and Indigenous housing, governments at all levels stepped up with funding offers to address the issue. I partnered with Forward Level Marketing to develop and launch two marketing campaigns to draw awareness to the advantages of modular construction and Nomodic’s model for these two markets. Each 8-week campaign leveraged a variety of mediums, from email marketing to social media to videos, while dedicated “pillar pages” were launched on Nomodic’s website with the goal of converting visitors into leads and opportunities. The Indigenous campaign concluded with a well-attended webinar featuring three experts in Indigenous housing and modular construction.
Nomodic Newsletters
In my role at Nomodic, I oversaw the creation and maintenance of three separate newsletters catering to diverse audiences—employees, shareholders, and external audiences/investors. These targeted newsletters played a key role in improving communication and engagement across different stakeholder groups.
Nomodic 10th Anniversary Promotion
Nomodic marked its 10th anniversary in 2022; to celebrate, the team held a fundraising event for four organizations and causes close to them. I led the design and development of promotional collateral for the event, which included a custom logo, email invitation, full size banner, social posts, and slideshow. The event raised over $28,000.
MindFuel Marketing Collateral
I was hired by MindFuel to assist in designing several impactful pieces including two-page “Cases for Support”, a stand-up banner, and a Christmas social media campaign. Adhering to established brand guidelines, I ensured each piece resonated with its intended audience, blending creativity with strategic appeal.
Bridgewater Bank Mortgage Statements and other Collateral
While serving in the marketing department at Bridgewater Bank between 2010 and 2011 (and for a period of time afterwards as a freelancer) I worked on several exciting and challenging projects, balancing creativity with regulatory requirements. After a rebrand I led the redesign of the bank’s mortgage statements in 2012, where I worked closely with a Calgary-based printer to develop an all-new streamlined process for the statements to reduce company manpower, time, and expenses. Other completed projects I designed and coordinated included mail-outs, application forms, employee guides, website banners and ads, and the Bridgewater Buzz monthly employee newsletter.
Business In Calgary Magazine Print Ads
From 2013 to 2014 I designed several full-page print ads for Business In Calgary magazine. These offered a unique and rewarding challenge, with each ad needing to incorporate different brand standards/requirements, design styles, and client feedback.
ATB Financial Flash Card Package
Since 2013 I have enjoyed helping ATB Financial produce a number of visual communication materials, primarily for their Learning & Leadership department. Created as a learning tool, this package containing flash cards and stickers was delivered to 1,100 of ATB's leaders across Alberta. Other projects included posters, slideshows, infographics, and a “tear-off” desktop calendar that contained 365 unique images with accompanying text.
Midwest Surveys Brochure Package
Needing a quick turnaround for an upcoming tradeshow, Midwest Surveys asked for help redesigning and managing the production of a brochure package containing eight unique pieces within an all-new presentation folder. The folder uses the company's "half transit" icon to create a unique varnish effect. I’ve enjoyed several years of working with the great team at Midwest on various projects for print and web including stationery, templates, infographics, and magazine ads.
Canada vs. Austria Infographic Poster
Created during my semester at FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria (2013), this expansive infographic poster provides fascinating insights into the distinctions between Canada and Austria (hint: check out the "people per square kilometre" comparison!). Among a series of distinctive projects undertaken during this semester, I also worked with a group of fellow international students to craft a museum exhibit and experimented with stencil graffiti art.
